Thanksgiving Week-end

Eric and I had a nice thanksgiving week-end, so I thought I'd make a short entry about it.

Friday evening Jon and Peg came to visit us. It was so nice to see them again and hear what they've been up to on their travels. We made a big curry dinner, looked at some pictures, and just hung out.

Because this week-end was Edmonton's 100th birthday, all of the museums were free, so Saturday we went and checked out the Edmonton Provincial museum. It was insanely busy but we had a good time. We had dinner at a yummy Vietnamese place and then went shopping for our Thanksgiving dinner supplies.

I knew that Allison was being thrown a surprise Birthday party that night at her place so I called to say "hi" to everyone. I got a chance to talk to Allison, Jenii, and Cara. Aw I miss them, it was so great to hear them again.

Sunday we did a little shopping in the morning. We went over to goodwill and purchased a $3.00 board game to play after dinner, and wandered up Whyte ave for a bit. In the afternoon we went to see Fort Edmonton (also free and very busy). We didn't have a lot of time to spend since it was getting late, and it was a whole village and fort to explore, but we saw as much as we could and I can go back and spend some more time there another day.

After Fort Edmonton we came home and got started on Thanksgiving dinner. We made: duck with orange glaze, roasted potatoes, carrots, celery and onions, fresh rolls, sausage dressing, Brussels sprouts and green beans with Horseradish sauce, and pie and ice cream for dessert. It turned out really well.

After dinner we got out our $3.00 board game and played a round of "Sweet Valley High". It was a pretty funny game actually. Everyone kept stealing Jon's boyfriend so he couldn't win. Very entertaining for a children's game.

Monday I spent in bed (not feeling well) while Eric had school, and Jon and Peg checked out the West Edmonton Mall. We turned out dinner leftovers into soup and ate it in front of a movie.

Unfortunately they have to head out today, but we had a great week-end with them and if possible we are looking even more forward to our visit to Vancouver in a few weeks.
